1. Cleaning the
sea from oil spill
Oil spill at sea has
adverse effects on the marine ecosystem. Oil spills are very difficult to
tackle and you may find yourself doing the experiment below.
Ingredients: ✔ 1 deep dish ✔ water ✔ 1 tablespoon oil cotton ✔ napkin ✔ dropper ✔ spoon
Procedure:
1. Pour in a plate of
water (representing the sea) a tablespoon of oil (representing the oil spill)
and mix gently (as do the waves and the air). Optionally you can put sand,
stones and other objects on one shore.
2. Try to separate the oil
from the water (remove the oil spill) Use cotton, napkins, a dropper and a
spoon.
3. Discuss the effects of
an oil spill on a marine ecosystem.

Should
I bury my trash?
Have you ever
wondered what happens to trash when they leave your home and go to the Places Landfill of Waste? By burying our garbage on the
ground, do they disappear? Do it experiment below and see what happens.
Materials:
Trash
Procedure:
1. Collect various types of rubbish, such as a plastic bottle, an aluminum soft
drink box, a newspaper, fruit peels, and more.
2. Bury trash in the school garden or in pots.
3. Water your trash every second day to expedite its decomposition.
4. Dig them out after about a week.
5. What has happened? What is the state of each of the materials buried?
